Project Title: Development of algorithm to screen jail detainees for chlamydial or gonococcal urethritis
Project PI: William Trick and Romina Kee
Co-investigators: D Murphy, M Mansour, J Raba
Description: Objective: To determine risk factors for chlamydial or gonococcal urethritis among adult mail detainees at Cook County Jail. Goal: To combine risk factors into algorithms to focus screening efforts on detainees at high risk of infection. Study design: We interviewed a cohort of adult male detainees and tested them for chlamydial or gonococcal urethritis during jail intake between 6/24-7/29/2004. We performed a nested case-control study among survey respondents.
